What
We OfferWe are the original, and the most experienced San Francisco treasure hunt company. Since 1988, we have sent over ten-thousand treasure hunters on exciting team-building adventures around San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Our clue-focused treasure hunt programs provide an intense, challenging experience, a "workout for the mind" that draws out each player's knowledge, personality and skills, and challenges them to think creatively and work collaboratively. They emphasize effective teamwork and strategic analysis, as each team must collaboratively solve a series of intellectually challenging puzzles that cannot be solved by a lone individual. Participants learn how to draw out each team member’s strengths, how to stimulate full participation, how to sift through competing ideas, choose a course of action and evaluate its effectiveness.
San Francisco Treasure Hunts founder Jayson Wechter draws on his experience as a personnel manager, journalist and human resources consultant and investigator to create team-building events that address real-life workplace challenges.
Each hunt consists of ten to twenty clues, or puzzles, that must be collaboratively solved by a team of four to six players. Hunts typically last two to four hours, although we also offer all-day programs. Each clue leads to a unique, secret location, an off-the-beaten track treasure spot that is a joy to discover (we are famous for leading players to unforgettable sights that most tourists and many residents never knew existed). The hunters have a fixed time in which to solve as many clues as possible, go to each location and find a hidden token, then return to a final meeting sight where we debrief them about the experience, explain the puzzles and award prizes.
Many team-building companies offer canned, “one-size-fits all” events. We customize each hunt according to the characteristics of the particular company or group, considering their team-building and other development goals for the event, the characteristics of the participants (age, activity level, familiarity with the area, etc.), and any special workplace issues they want addressed. Before designing a hunt, we conduct a detailed interview with the client so we can clarify their goals and tailor our teambuilding event to meet them. Our long experience creating treasure hunts in the San Francisco area allows us to choose from hundreds of pre-tested clues suitable for all levels of difficulty.
